On last week’s episode of the Lifetime series Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp, the producers had to bleep out a homophobic slur the little guy uttered during a temper tantrum.

“As I’ve said before, I sometimes struggle to raise Tripp. However, he does not use slurs,” Bristol tried to explain on her blog. “On the most recent episode of Life’s a Tripp, The Huffington Post is reporting that my son said the word ‘f-gg-t.’ This is not true. Let me be clear. I’m not proud of what he did say. Sadly, he used a different ‘f word.’”

The former teen mom went on to explain that Tripp “is always surrounded by adults” and “apparently picked up some language” that she’d prefer her son not use. And while Bristol, 21, is opposed to gay marriage, she doesn’t promote hate. “I guess the temptation to label my 3-year-old son is just too great for the lefty papers to resist,” she said.
