Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus welcomes son
Jay DeMarcus and his wife Allison Alderson welcomed their second child last week in Nashville, and the singer nearly missed his son’s birth!

Jay, 41, was in Detroit touring with his trio Rascal Flatts when he got the call that this wife was in labor, his rep confirmed to Us Weekly. The bassist flew to Nashville, witnessed his son’s birth and then returned to Detroit hours later to perform.

Dylan Jay was born at 4 p.m., weighing 7 lbs., 11 oz. He joins big sister Madeline Leigh, 19 months. Jay and Allison have been married since May 2004 and announced this pregnancy in January via Twitter. “Alright y’all, Ali and I have baby number two on the way! Huge surprise but we’re very excited!”
