Katie Holmes gets primary custody of Suri
According to new reports, Katie Holmes has been granted primary custody of daughter Suri.
Before the details of the custody agreement were settled, Katie and Tom released a joint statement today, saying, “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”

According to Us Weekly, Katie initially wanted sole custody, but received primary custody while Tom will have visitation rights… with exceptions. An insider revealed, “Katie was really smart about how she did this. Tom will be allowed to see Suri but there are guidelines for the visits.”

The source added, “Tom is really sad at the thought of not being able to see Suri. You can tell he really loves his kids.”
Another source revealed that Katie had to agree to a lot of conditions as well, saying, “There are a lot [of provisions] there . . . From what I heard it was complicated, and one of the provisions is confidentiality. Katie doesn’t care. She’s free with her daughter.”
