Katie Holmes dropped hints about “new phase” in an interview prior to her split from Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise (and the rest of the world) may have been shocked by Katie Holmes’ decision to leave him after one daughter together and five years of marriage, but it seems Katie had been planning her move for quite some time.
According to Celebuzz, Kate hinted about the new phase in her life in an interview back in May with Elle magazine. The actress said, “I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase.”

When asked about her husband Tom, Katie replied, “He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years. I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”
