The fashion reviews for a pregnant Jessica Simpson were both good and bad. Some applauded her bold fashions while others found them unflattering. Jessica, now a mom, remained confident in her pregnancy style… so confident, in fact, that she is launching her own line of maternity clothes.
“I’m so excited to partner with Destination Maternity to design a collection of fashionable styles that will make you look and feel great!” Jessica said in a statement released this morning. “You want clothes that are flattering to your baby bump. You want to show your bump off.”
Jessica knows a little something about fashion design. Her Jessica Simpson Collection is reportedly worth $1 billion.
Jessica Simpson Maternity is set to launch this fall and will be sold nationwide at Motherhood Maternity, Destination Maternity and Macy’s. The collection, starting at $36, will include vintage-print tops, clingy jersey-knit dresses and chunky realized sweaters.
Don’t expect Jessica Simpson Maternity to include the star’s trademark sky-high heels. Though she vowed to wear designer shoes right into the delivery room, Jessica discovered that stilettos are just not very practical for that third trimester.
“I can’t wear heels anymore,” she lamented while shopping in a Santa Monica Fred Segal in March. “I tried but it was too hard. Wearing heels is like a religion to me, so it’s tough!”
Two weeks before she gave birth, Jessica tweeted, “I can’t wait for the day I can walk in heels again! My feet feel homesick!”
What do you think of Jessica’s sense of style?
