Eva Mendes shares advice from Mom
In an interview with SheKnows, Eva Mendes talks about her role as a mother in Girl in Progress, what she was like … and she even shares advice her own dear old mom shared with her.
Eva revealed, “I was a dream child up until I was about 13. I was in the student body and a straight-A student, and then something happened around junior high. I became a little more difficult, although not rebellious.”

Of her new Flick, Eva said, “It gets a little dark. Grace was written as a disaster of a mother. I liked that it was dealing with real issues that mothers and daughters go through.”
Thank goodness Eva and her own mother’s relationship is nothing like that. For Mother’s Day she sent her mom and sisters to see her new movie then they had lunch at her house.

Eva said she takes her mom’s own advice on the daily: “My mom would always tell me, ‘When in doubt, just laugh. Laugh at yourself first, and then have everyone laugh along with you.’”
