Joe Nichols welcomes daughter Dylan River
April 17th is forever a special day for country crooner Joe Nichols and his wife Heather. It’s the day they became parents to a beautiful baby girl.
Joe gives credit where credit is due
Dylan River Nichols was born a little earlier than expected, but at 7 lbs., 5 oz. and 24-1/2 inches, she is perfectly healthy, reports People.
“Joe and I have prayed for this day for such a long time,” said a happy but exhausted Heather. “We are truly blessed.”
This country sweetheart isn’t ready for kids yet
Last year, the singer revealed that when he wasn’t touring, he and Heather were “working on having a baby — that’s been the fun part.”
Joe and Heather have known each other since they were 19, and they got married in 2007. One month after their wedding, Joe entered rehab for substance abuse. He’s been clean and sober ever since.

In January 2008, Heather suffered a miscarriage before taking on a series of fertility treatments. Finally, in February of this year, the couple announced that a baby was on the way. “After trying to have a baby for so long, we are thrilled to announce that I am pregnant,” Heather said at the time.
“This is one of the most humbling and remarkable experiences. Heather is amazing, and I am just so thankful our little girl is here. She is truly a miracle.”
