Nancy Kerrigan’s kids love to ice skate, but don’t listen to her tips!
If anyone is qualified to hand down ice-skating tips, it’d be former Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan. But the mom of three recently told PEOPLE that while she tries to give her kids tips on the ice, the advice may be falling on deaf ears!
Nancy told PEOPLE of her daughter Nicole, 3 1/2, who has been skating since she was just 14 months old, “She seems to like it. If that’s what she wants to do, I’m happy to help her.”
But her kids may not take the help Mom is willing to dish out. Of her children, including sons Matthew, 16, and Brian, 6 1/2, as well as Nicole, Nancy said, “They all like going skating and they definitely like people clapping for them. They say, ‘Watch me’ and I try to give them tips, but they don’t necessarily listen to me.”

Well, Nancy, don’t feel too bad! Since when do kids really want to take advice from their parents — even if they are Olympic medalists!
