Troubled Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is jail yet again.
Amber was arrested yesterday for violating her probation, reports The Herald Bulletin of Anderson, Ind.
The 21-year-old was convicted in June of assaulting her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley, in front of their young daughter. Leah. She was given a suspended two-year jail sentence.
Now, a report from the probation department indicates that Amber is “a danger to herself and to society.” The probation office also cites the abuse of prescription medications as a contributing factor in Amber’s arrest.
Amber failed to meet with her probation officer last week and was tracked down at her home under the influence of “a mood-altering substance.” She told the authorities that she had been in a car accident and was driving while on her medications. Despite her admissions, Amber refused to submit to drug tests. Local newspapers also report that Amber violated other terms of her probation including obtaining her GED and completing anger management classes.
Amber will spend both the Christmas and New Year’s holidays behind bars. She is being held without bail until her Jan. 13 hearing.
Is the Teen Mom phenomenon partially to blame for Amber’s problems?
