Padma’s post-baby body motivation
In the new issue of OK! magazine, new mom to Krishna Thea, almost 5 months, and Top Chef judge Padma Lakshmi spoke about her post-baby weight loss.
Of going back to work so soon after giving birth, she said: “I went from being bedridden to being in front of the camera. I needed to make sure I was healthy. I was breastfeeding and I wanted to be good at my job and that involves tasting food. I couldn’t worry about my weight and taste everything on the show.”
She has shed most of her weight, but admits that she still has a goal she’s working towards — she wants to reclaim the body that she showed off in Allure magazine at this time last year. “I have that un-retouched picture on my fridge,” she admitted.
However, she is forgiving of her figure, adding: “I like the way I look when I’m bigger, and I like the way I look when I’m smaller. They’re just two different versions of me. I can’t expect to look immediately the way I looked before. It is about feeling good about yourself and being healthy.”
