Laila Ali shares details about her son’s birth
In an interview with My Best Birth, Laila Ali spoke about her 19-month-old son Curtis ‘CJ’ Muhammad’s birth.
Though she had initially intended to bring him into the world via a home birth, she shared that when she was about five months pregnant, CJ’s growth became restricted, so it was necessary to have a hospital birth. “They didn’t know what the problem was. The midwives got a little nervous because it has to be a normal situation, and even though it wasn’t an out of control situation, he needed to be monitored,” she shared.
However, Laila isn’t letting the change of plans get her down because she sees what really matters: “He is healthy, he is here, and even though everything didn’t go the way I would have liked it to have gone … I’ve always said since the beginning that everything is going to happen the way it’s supposed to. I still believe that that’s the way it was supposed to be.”
We think that’s a great attitude to have!
