Colbie Smulders wants to keep daughter out of the spotlight
During a recent visit to The Bonnie Hunt Show, new mom Cobie Smulders talked about her daughter Shaelyn Cado, who was born last May.
She admits she’s still not sleeping much: “I think I sleep an average of four hours a night now and so it’s just functioning on fumes sometimes.”
She also shared the significance behind her daughter’s name: “Hopefully she won’t be teased too much. I went with it because I liked Shay and I had never really heard it before.”
As for whether we can expect to see little Shay following in her mother’s acting footsteps — well, Cobie hopes not.
She shared, “I hate to say no to anything, but from my personal experience, I would like to leave her out of it. I think it is a rejection thing and it’s a hard business for a woman to be in.”
But she added, “If it’s what she wants to do, then it’s what she wants to do.”
