Joey McIntyre is looking forward to baby boy No. 2
Joey McIntyre’s wife Barrett is due this month with the couple’s second child (they are already parents to 2-year-old Griffin Thomas), and though they know the sex of the baby (another boy!) and they even know the name, but they aren’t sharing the latter news – with anyone!
Joey told OK! magazine: “My sisters are mad at me. God forbid we keep a couple secrets in this day and age! I think people are afraid of the reaction, good or bad. If you say a name, you’re very sensitive about the name, so you don’t want people to have that reaction and go [disparagingly] ‘mmmm’ whereas once the baby’s born, people are a little more inviting of that name.”
Meanwhile, little Griffin had some OJT about how to be a big brother, thanks to Joey’s sister in law, who has a 6-month-old baby. “…it was perfect timing,” he said. “Here is this beautiful little girl that he can be around and learn how to be gentle. He adores her. Hopefully it will be the same situation. It’s going to be fun to have a couple of boys around.”
