Sarah Michelle on becoming a mother
In a recent interview with PEOPLE Sarah Michelle Gellar, who became a mom for the first time on September 19 when she and hubby Freddie Prinze Jr. welcomed baby Charlotte Grace Prinze into the world, spoke about motherhood.
“Every day I look at her and I am in awe,” said Sarah Michelle of her new baby girl.
She also reported that she is glad she and Freddie waited to have kids. (She is 32, Freddie is 33, and they married in 2002.) “Becoming a parent is the most selfless act and you need to be at a point in your life where you can give up anything and everything for a child. I don’t know if you know how to do that when you’re in your 20s.”
Proud new papa Freddie added, I’m so happy we didn’t have kids in our 20s - I just didn’t know a thing. You have so much more patience in your 30s, and I feel like I appreciate this so much more.”
