Kelly Rutherford relates to other mothers
In an article in the Los Angeles Times, Kelly Rutherford talked about how she relates to mothers, in her role as Lily on Gossip Girl and in real life.
In the interview, she revealed, “There are certain universal things about mothers. I like that we show that mothers aren’t always perfect. It’s okay to say, ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t handle that the best way possible.’”
The newly single mom of two (son Hermes is 3 and her daughter Helena Grace is 4 months) also said that her new found single status motivates her to keep working… but it’s not the only reason she works.
“I’m a single mother with no child support. I have to work,” she said, adding, “I also happen to love what I do and think it’s a good example for kids to see their mother working. My son always says to me, ‘Mommy, why do you have to go to work?’ and I tell him, ‘I have to be able to buy the toys.’ He totally gets it.”
That’s one smart mama!
