Dominique Moceanu welcomes baby number two
Olympic gymnist and superstar, Dominique Moceanu, and her husband former gymnist and current surgeon, Mike Canales, welcomed their second child, a boy, in Cleveland on Friday March 13. The little boy they named Vincent Michael Canales, was 8lbs, 9 oz., and 19.5 inches long at birth and joins big sister Carmen Noel who was born on Christmas day in 2007.
According to the proud papa, “Mommy and baby are doing well,” and, “Carmen couldn’t be happier or more excited.”
Dominique Moceanu definitely has her priorities in order after winning gold in Atlanta way back in 1996. Last year she told reporters that, “Being a mother is at the very top of my list of accomplishments.” She has definitely succeeded. She plans on finishing her degree and graduating with a masters this summer, and continue teaching gymnastics herself. There is also little doubt that her children, both with gymnist parents, will be learning floor exercises of their own very soon.
