Salma Hayek breastfeeds a baby that isn’t hers
Ok, this is sure to cause some controversy. There will be people on one side that say it is disgusting or disturbing, and the staunch breastfeeding advocates that say good for her and that there is nothing wrong with it. We want your opinion!
Salma Hayek recently went to Sierra Leone, Africa in order to see first hand what the poverty situation was like. Salma, who is mother to 16 month old daughter Valentina, is very much an advocate of breastfeeding and still breastfeeds her daughter. She simply couldn’t help herself when she came across a starving African boy and offered him nourishment that only a mother can give.
“Nightline” co-anchor Cynthia McFadden went along to document Salma Hayek’s journey through the poverish country and got video of the mother offering herself to a baby…literally. In front of cameras, Salma quietly began breastfeeding this hungry baby, that clearly needed food. What do you think? Was she right…or wrong?

I was amazed to see this great icon in our modern society showing the world what is not beneath her. She took a baby, who otherwise didn’t have the sufficient nutrience and gave it what he needed. What a beautiful gift! She could have given them all the money they could possibly want but before her was a child that needed the simple necessity of life, nourishment.
I hope this teaches the world something. I hope through this simple act people will look to one another for hope and understanding. This simple act has many values that I wish we all can take with us in our hearts and look past our own selfishness.
Beautiful Selma, Beautiful.

Very easy call IMO. The baby was starving. For someone to tell me it would have been right to let him go hungry when she had food right there in her breasts, makes no sense. That would be like if she had a sandwich and withheld it from a starving woman. I think she is amazing.

should we even question this.My milk never did let down after 2 c-sections with my boy’s who are only 19mo apart. I tried but it was not ment to be.I applaud her for her great sense of mother-hood.People are starving in this world what a wonderful selfless act.Look at her glow as she fed that beautiful child.

I’m so happy to see such positive comments! I was expecting to see negativity, but wow! I’m glad to see that at least some of us are totally supportive of this. It’s hard when you hear such ridiculous things going on in our society regarding breastfeeding, such as women being kicked out of dressing rooms or airplanes for feeding their babies in the best way possible! Way to go Selma–you are setting a great example!!! THANK YOU
