Zoey 101 will go on, despite pregnancy
USmagazine.com is reporting that the Nickelodeon show Zoey 101 will go on, despite the fact that the teen star, Jamie Lynn Spears, recently announced she was pregnant.
New episodes will continue to run until next month, and the fourth season has finished production and will air in September. Nickelodeon issued this statement: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”
Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old sister of Britney Spears, recently made the announcement that she was 12 weeks pregnant with her boyfriend’s baby.
How do you feel about Nickelodeon’s decision to continue airing Zoey 101? I feel like it is irresponsible of the network, considering the young and impressionable fan base of the show.

yeah money, contracts too, is my guess. dont allow your kids watch it if you are morally opposed. that is part of a parents job right? to not allow your kids to watch material they think is not right for their child.

I think that it is alright that they will continue to air the show. It is no like she will be waddling around heavily pregnant during the shows, they are all done filming them. It is not Nic’s fault she got pregnant and there are thousand of kids who love that show and would be disappointed if it ended abruptly. I think that it isn’t the Tv network’s job to teach kids about sex and love, but the responsibility of the parents to instill their own values about the subject in their children. So many parents avoid talking about this issue with their children and expect them to just know instinctively what is acceptable and unacceptable. Maybe this situation will give parents a way to broach the subject with their children. There is nothing “wrong” about this show, when has a star’s personal life ever affected whether you watch a show you like or not? Why should it affect whether your children get to watch their favourite show or not? This show is a great example to kids of the sometimes complicated lives of a group of middle school aged kids, nothing is controversial about it except the personal live of one of its stars. So if you wish to deprive your child of their favourite show, go ahead and be my guest.

if you are so concerned about a tv show being a bad influence on your children, then you obviously aren’t doing your job as a parent. her personal life has nothing to do with the show. chill out and respect that she is taking responsibility

My problem with most athletic challenges is training. I’m lazy and find that workouts cut into my drinking time.

If all of you opinionated people raise your kids properly you should not have to be worried about the influence SHE will have on YOUR kids. She is still a working women and as you should know it is illegal to fire a women just because she is pregnant. Kids should follow what they see on television if they have proper guidance from their parents. People make mistakes is what you should be teaching your kids.

Personally, I Don’t Think That It Really Makes A Difference Wether The Show Plays Or Not.
I’m A 15 Year Old Girl And Yes, I Still Watch The Family Chanel So I’ve seen Her Show. But Quite Frankly Kids Can See Much Worse If They Watch The News Or Open A Magazine. Paparazzi Are Now Glamorizing All These Stoopid Celebs Who Go Out Drinking All Night And Smoke Up In The Back Of Their Cars. The More Messed Up They Are The Closer It Gets To The Front Page. So Why Should You Really Be Concerned About 1 TV Show With A Pregnant Teen. If They don’t See It On The News Or Magazine they’ll Never Even Know.
And Also If Parents Raised Their Kids Right Then Why Are You Woried?!?!

I don’t think her personal life should have an impact on the show. she portrays a different character on screen and we should not expect her to be that character in real life. Whatever happened was in her personal life. We are not ones to judge her personality based on her on-screen persona. Besides, well brought up kids, those who get regular guidance from their parents, will not be affected in any way if the show keeps on airing. It’s just a normal tv show with normal characters. Those kids won’t be duped into doing what happens in her personal life. Besides, I think whatever Jamie is going through is tough enough for her and her family. We should respect their privacy.

I’m glad their keeping it on, I love that show!! And my 11 year old daughter LOVES Jamie Lynne, she’s 11 and has told me that people told her that Zoey is having a baby in real life so I told her the truth, but had she not asked I wouldn’t have mentioned it!! The kids don’t need to read celeb gossip!!
