Julianne Nicholson, also known as Detective Megan Wheeler on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, is expecting a child with her husband, Six Degrees actor Jonathan Cake, reports NBC.

Due in September, this is the first child for Nicholson, 35, and Cake, 39.

Ashleigh Banfield, the former NBC News anchor with the cute, distinctive eyeglasses, welcomed a baby boy with her husband Howard Gould on May 21st.

Ridley Banfield Gould was born in New York weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces. “Mother and baby are doing fine,” a rep tells Us Weekly.

This is the second son for Banfield, 39, and her husband of 3 years. Jay Fischer is 19-months-old.

The Emmy nominated correspondent has been busy with Court TV News and has just signed on to host a celebrity entertainment show “Hollywood Heat.”
 

Country singer Martina McBride talks to Family Circle magazine about how she strives to not spoil her kids, and the importance of sneaking in some “me time.” McBride, 40, has three daughters Delaney, 12, Emma, 9, and Ava, 2.

I keep my kids from getting spoiled by…”not giving them everything they want. Aside from books and art supplies, the older girls have to buy stuff with the money they earn doing little jobs around the house. My husband, John, and I aren’t materialistic–I drive a ’92 Honda–so the girls still get excited when we stay in a nice hotel room or eat at a great restaurant.”

Although no official announcement has been made, Red Hot Chili Pepper frontman Anthony Kiedis and his model girlfriend Heather Christie will soon be getting a visit from the stork.

Kiedis, 44, and Christie, 20, have been dating for two years and this will be their first child together.

Actress Connie Nielsen and Metallica drummer have announced the arrival of their baby boy. “His name is Bryce Thadeus Ulrich-Nielsen. He was born on May 21st,” a rep tells People.

Nielsen, 42, and Ulrich, also 42, have been dating for two years and are “ecstatic” over the arrival of their son. “Everything is fine with him,” Nielsen tells a Dutch newspaper.”He is eating, and he’s just so fine.”

Ulrich echoes the new mother’s thoughts on the Metallica website. “Mother’s doing well, Dad’s in awe, and brothers Layne, Myles, and Sebastian are psyched!”

Denmark natives Ulrich and Nielsen both have children from previous marriages. Ulrich has sons Myles, 8, and Layne, 5. Nielsen has a 16-year-old son named Sebastian.

Actress Salma Hayek leaves the Beverly Hills Four Seasons hotel after lunching with friends on Wednesday.

Hayek, 40, announced in March that she was pregnant and engaged to her boyfriend, Francois-Henri Pinault. She is rumored to be planning on giving birth in France.

She has not revealed her due date but, judging from this photo from People ,it looks like she is around 7 months pregnant.

Vice President Dick Cheney is a grandfather, People magazine reports. Cheney’s daughter, Mary, gave birth to a baby boy today at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Samuel David Cheney was born at 9:46 a.m. weighing 8 lbs., 6 oz. “The vice president is pleased to be a grandfather for the sixth time,” a spokeswoman told reporters.

Samuel is the first child for Mary, 37, and Heather, 45, her partner of 15 years.
