Tiger may not go to British Open

tiger.jpgGolf great Tiger Woods has made it clear that family comes first. The British Open, taking place in Scotland, is scheduled for July which is the same month is which wife Elin is due with their first baby.

“If it happens, it happens. If it crosses over, it crosses over. That’s the most important thing, not another golf tournament. I just wouldn’t go. If she’s going to have it during the week of the Open, I just don’t go.”  Winning is old news for the No. 1 ranked player, who won the Open last year.

Woods knows his priorities will change once they become a family of three. “Our priorities do change. You’re bringing a new life into this world and it’s 100 percent dependent on you for survival,” Sports Illustrated quotes him as saying. “It’ll be interesting to figure out my tournament schedule, preparations and commitments that I have to my sponsors, to try and balance all that with adding a new family member. Usually with golf you’re just preparing for the here and now and then all of a sudden you look a little bit further out in the future.”

No word yet on the sex of their baby, but I’m sure Tiger already has the tot enrolled in golf lessons!
