Victoria & David Beckhams son has epilepsy
The British newspaper, News of the World, revealed that David and Victoria “Posh” Beckham’s middle son, Romeo, has epilepsy. Romeo is pictured, left, with his daddy.
The 4-year-old’s condition became known when Victoria became upset at all the flash photos being taken from the paparazzi’s cameras as she was leaving Heathrow airport with her sons Romeo, Brooklyn, 7, and Cruz, 1.
Romeo covered his eyes as he was being pushed in his stroller through the airport, but started “screaming in terror” as one pushy photog pushed his camera in the car and started taking pictures.
It was at that point that Victoria told the paparazzi, “Leave him alone. He’s got epilepsy. All that flashing will start an epileptic fit. You can’t do that!”
The owner of the agency that was trying to get the shot, Splash News, has since said that, “No picture is worth putting a child’s life in danger. Now that we know Romeo has epilepsy, I will not be authorizing any of my photographers to take flash pictures of him. I think this is absolutely the right thing to do and I hope other agencies follow suit.”
Epilepsy is a condition causing convulsions or seizures. Romeo is reportedly on medications to control the condition, but certain triggers (such as flashing lights) may still provoke a seizure.
